LEAD HANDS / GANGERS

As a Lead Hand/Ganger at Velta Construction, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of a construction crew. Working closely with the project management team, you will ensure that construction tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and by following project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of construction workers, providing guidance, motivation, and support.
  • Task Assignment: Allocate tasks to crew members, ensuring that each member understands their responsibilities.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate construction activities.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure that all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring that projects meet quality specifications.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate the use of construction equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and utilisation.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to crew members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and construction techniques.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues that may arise during construction projects, making decisions to keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experience as a Lead Hand/Ganger in the construction industry.
  • NRSWA certification, EUSR certification, CPCS or CSCS certification.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a construction team.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a construction team and with external partners.
