GROUNDWORKER

As a Groundworker at Velta Construction, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks related to preparing construction sites and assisting with various aspects of construction projects. Working collaboratively within our construction team, you will contribute to the successful completion of projects across various civil engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Preparation: Carry out groundwork activities, including excavation, levelling, and compaction, to prepare construction sites.
  • Drainage Installation: Install drainage systems, manholes, and associated infrastructure as per project requirements.
  • Kerbing and Paving: Lay kerbs and paving, ensuring accurate alignment and quality finish.
  • Concrete Work: Assist in the pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete as needed.
  • Utility Installation: Collaborate with utility contractors to install services such as water, gas, and electricity.
  • Operating Machinery: Utilise a range of construction equipment, including excavators, dumpers, and rollers.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experience as a Groundworker in the construction industry.
  • NRSWA certification, CPCS or CSCS certification.
  • Proficient in a variety of groundwork tasks, including excavation, drainage installation, and concrete work.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a construction team.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
